What are Granite Countertops and Their
Durability?
Granite is a surprisingly durable stone. It is a natural stone cut from the earth in slabs from a quarry which makes each piece one-of-a-kind. Granite is a must-have quality for any high-traffic kitchen. Being a natural stone, this material is heat-resistant allowing you to plop down your hot pots and pans straight from the oven. Granite is extremely hard and won't easily scratch.

What are Quartz Countertops and Their Durability?
Quartz countertops are engineered stone surfaces that are mostly available at slab yards and some tile suppliers. They combine the best of natural stone with modern manufacturing processes. This results in a surface that's comparable (and often superior) in beauty to granite and marble while offering greater durability. Each piece may not be unique, but the cool, clean appearance creates quite an ambiance in your kitchen or bathrooms.
We never suggest marble for a countertop because the material soaks up your red wine and other stains!
